The Community Medicine Cabinet's mission is to empower our community to care for itself through our classes, self care products, and clinical practice. We are honored to serve our community with these offerings and facilitate connection in the process.
The Community Medicine Cabinet is both a business and an art project. Conceived between friends in an herb school kitchen in 2014, we have grown to become a project with three shelves holding our classes, clinical practice, and selfcare products. In a moment in history when access to health care is limited to many (especially for reasons of race, class, and ability), we strive to be an accessible resource working to empower our community to care for itself. We work to weave a thread between social and environmental justice in both our classes and our products. And we are committed to offering free and low-cost care to folks who need it. The medicines in our apothecary are made by hand and sourced in an ethical, sustainable, and beautiful way.
Our first project, the herbal FIRST AID KIT, is our effort to share our medicine cabinets with you, offering up the 'go-to's' we rely on to care for ourselves.
Our EMOTIONAL SELF CARE KIT follows in the first aid kit's footsteps, helping us face emotional challenges with the support of plant allies.
PLANT CLUB and PLANT FIGURE DRAWING are our ways of offering nature connection and plant medicine education on an ongoing basis. We also host herbal Classes like DIY FIRE CIDER, movie screenings, and more.
Our Clinical Practice is our most intimate offering. We work on an individual level, offering a range of herbal care from super affordable quick consultation for acute support to long-term energetic herbal care. We consider physical, emotional and spiritual roots of imbalance in relation to broader social, political and environmental forces acting on the body. We formulate for both acute comfort and long-term systemic resilience.
