From the latin root, valere, Valerian translates to “to be well.” This fragrant, earthy root is highly regarded for a wide variety of complaints related to stress and tension including headaches, nervousness, restlessness and insomnia. Also commonly used to relax muscles and ease pain, the herb can sooth digestive issues and ease menstrual cramps. Our tincture is made from the freshly dug root and can promote deep, restful sleep. As a nerve tonic or for acute situations, an ounce of Valerian is well worth the weight.
Please note, Valerian can be stimulating to some people. Valerian may potentiate barbiturates and regular, long term use is not suggested.
